TAFE Outreach programs are closely aligned to the Federal Social Inclusion Agenda ensuring NSW education is accessible to people who face barriers to learning including geographical and social isolation, language and cultural factors, financial hardship, lack of educational confidence, being unaware of opportunities to learn, a disability or family commitments.

Macquarie Fields Strengthening Community

This program came about in response to an approach by NSW Police Macquarie Fields Local Area Command in September 2009. The local TAFE Outreach Coordinator met with police at Macquarie Fields to explore opportunities for community strengthening.
The collaboration brought about a program to broaden options for interested young people to join the NSW Police Force. A cohort of recent Year 12 students engaged in the Fit Blast Program (Fitness) with Myrna Williams Youth Liaision Officer. Further negotiation with the General Education section resulted in a Certificate IV qualification being run to facilitate the goals of the group.
